Jeannette Tarqueno

On December 4, 2011, while serving our Country in the Persian Gulf, US Navy Gunners Mate, First Class Petty Officer Jeannette Tarqueno was severely injured.  She was struck in the head by a falling 30 pound brass shell casing.  As a direct result, she now suffers from TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) and related trauma.  Her everyday life has been affected with pronounced difficulties in speaking, walking, and balance.

As part of her recovery, the medical professionals prescribed that her family stay with her during her treatment.  They are convinced that this is a vital part of the recovery process.

Once Salute the Armed Forces® learned of Jeanette’s need, they became instrumental in helping raise nearly $30,000 through a fundraiser that was jointly held at a local VFW Hall in her honor.

Her extensive rehabilitation treatment continues to this day, with a hopeful prognosis.  It is believed she will make a full recovery, with the help of her family.

Thank you, Jeannette, for your service to our great nation.
